Since I grew up here in the Silicon Valley (San Jose, to be exact), I honestly never thought that I’d still be here. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and I love California (seriously, what’s not to love??), but in an era where people live anywhere but where they grew up I honestly thought I’d be far, far away by now.
I suppose I have Mark to thank for sticking around. But you know what? I’m glad. We have some amazing friends and get to do some pretty cool things. Although I always wanted to get away, I don’t think it’s where you are that matters, but really who you’re with.
Friday night our friends Rick and Sandy hosted one of their spectacular Garden parties (because their garden is AMAZING and so are they…) and we were able to get there before Thadman needed to retire for the night. Though I didn’t get a photo of it, the dinner was served by a local food truck (how clever, might I add!), The Louisiana Territory which was delish! If you’re ever in San Jose, you must find this truck. Period. Here are a few shots from the evening.
Then on Saturday afternoon I went to my girlfriend’s wedding in Portola Valley. She had a perfect backyard wedding and it was beautiful (and hot!). Mark wasn’t able to make it because he caught that nasty cold that seems to be going around (which T and I now have…), but it was great to help Mary and PK celebrate their new life together! I didn’t take many photos because my battery was low, but I’ll update the post and link to the photographer’s blog (or you can click on the photographer site on the right if you want to see his work now) once the photos are posted (and I can assure you, they’ll be MUCH better). And here they are!! HarberPhotography.com
But here are just a few….
