I am so grateful I have a child, and even more grateful I have a boy. Nothing against girls (I am one, after all), but we have so much fun together. He is silly, charismatic, loves to wrestle, run around and be crazy and enjoys blowing snot rockets.
A few weeks ago we went running on a nearby trail and during the run I had to take care of a little runner runny nose business and I really wasn’t thinking about what I was doing or that the kid might be watching. He’s so mellow on these runs and I think he really just enjoys getting outside to enjoy the crisp California Winter air.
At the end of the run I took care of more runner nose and took him out of his stroller to cruise around near the trail. As I was packing up the car I heard a little noise that sounded a little like a sneeze, but more like a nose blowing. I looked back at him and he was just cruising around.
Then I heard it again.
No, that couldn’t be…
And then again.
I stopped what I was doing and walked over to him, and with his back to me he did it again. I finally saw that when he did it his hand was going up to his face.
Oh, no. I’ve created a monster.
Here’s what the little monster looked like.
Now I could lie and say he’s blowing a kiss and you all would likely enjoy that and say, how cute is that?!?
But, honesty is the best policy friends.
He was copying his mommy and taking care of some post-run business. And the upside (other than this super cute picture) is that he’s already getting the hang of blowing his nose in an actual tissue!
Yay for snot rockets.
