This past weekend and week was a whirlwind to say the least! Amidst all of the fun happenings –babyshower (yay!) going away party (boo!) — and the not so fun — mad allergies and allergic reactions (boo!) — I was surprisingly, shockingly, amazingly nominated for a blogger awardI
The lovely Becky Marshall of The Dissocial Mom nominated me for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award! Becky is a fun and funny mom who blogs about her three darling little munchkins and doing the stay at home thing with them. Definitely check out her site.
The rules for the award are as follows (so do this if I nominate you!):
- Display the Award Certificate on your website.
- Announce your win with a post and link to whoever presented you with the award.
- Present 15 awards to deserving bloggers.
- Drop them a comment to tip them off after you have linked them in the post.
- Post 7 interesting things about yourself.
To pass on the most inspiring award to
15 5 very deserving and inspiring bloggers, here it goes:
- EatDrinkBreatheSweat – Diary of a fitness fanatic who likes to eat, drink and be merry, too.
- DeterminedToBe – …a runner, a sister, a lover…living a fit and happy life.
- NebrZwillinge – From Nebraska to Germany, the adventures of the Zwillinge.
- Finding Joy – Beautiful. Connected. Life.
- Home Across the Water
Why I chose 5 instead of 15? Well, let’s be honest, if I chose 15 I’d be lying because I don’t read 15 blogs regularly. I mean, I hardly even read my own blog. BUT, I wanted to be honest about the blogs I truly do love and enjoy reading. So, there you have it. These women and their blogs are worth it to read! So check them out.
I promise not to cheat on the seven interesting / embarrassing things about myself… so here goes:
I love surfing and miss it dearly. All this baby making business is starting to really cut into my skills as a surfer. The last time I went (just over a year ago), I caught a wave (the smallest one you’ve ever seen… so it was a miracle I caught it in the first place) and ran into my husband and hurt him. Then, THEN, a chunky little kid about 10-years-old with a BOOGIE BOARD (I’m not a hater, just making my point) smiled at me and kindly said, “Ahh, is this your first time?” God bless him. I laughed so hard and smiled and really should have said yes. It was that embarrassing.
I get a rash on my hips when I eat meat. It itches and drives me insane, but I have to eat meat right now. So I got my rash again about a month ago, and three weeks ago it got worse. Like really bad. Don’t worry, I’m going to the dermatologist this morning. But the other night the hubs was looking at it and said, you know what… I think I know what it is. Well tell me, dammit! I don’t want to scare you, but I think it’s Poison Oak. WHAT?!? Yeah. Have you been in the woods lately? Ha! with this belly? No. How the heck could I have gotten that? And then it goes on. We’ll confirm what the hell it is later this morning. Yay me.
I’m scared to deliver my twins in the hospital. (There, I said it). After doing a home birth with Thad, I have no idea what a hospital delivery will be like, let alone one in an OR. I mean, holy crap. What is that going to be like?!? I also have no idea what kind of delivery I’ll have because I basically won’t know if it will natural or a c-section until the last minute. More than anything I will be spending this pregnancy adjusting to the fact that I won’t know this outcome until it happens. HOWEVER, I do love my doctor (we are so lucky with him) and he and I are on the same page with everything so I will have faith in that.
I have a love-hate relationship with my garden. I love all of the food it produces, but it gets so overwhelming at harvest time. It will be considerably more overwhelming in August when I’m the size of a whale and I’m trying to harvest tomatoes. I’m pretty sure whales were meant to be in the water.
Speaking of water, I love water. I love being in it, drinking it, being in it… It is my happy place.
I’m not that into candy. I love ice cream but could really care less about candy.
The last interesting thing about me is…. I love my dogs but I hate their fur and cleaning it up. Constantly. Oh, and their breath stinks. I hate that too. But I love their companionship. Poor guys, there gonna get screwed come October…
There you go. That’s it.
